The MyLyft service
MyLyft provides digital ride request, dispatch, tracking, payment, chat, account, support, and admin tools.
Private hire vehicles in England and Wales must be pre-booked. MyLyft does not allow street hailing through the platform.
Business enquiries can be sent to contact@mylyft.co.uk or made by phone on +44 7453 262944.
Private-hire licensing and operating area
Before paid public operation, MyLyft must ensure that any private-hire bookings are handled through the correct licensed operator arrangements for the relevant local authority area.
Drivers and vehicles must hold the licences, insurance, documents, and approvals required for the trip area. Where licensing rules require a specific operator, driver, and vehicle licensing combination, MyLyft must follow those rules before accepting or dispatching the booking.
Riders should use only the trip confirmed in the app and should not enter a vehicle if the driver, vehicle, plate, or pickup details do not match the booking.
Eligibility and accounts
Users must provide accurate account information and keep login details secure. MyLyft may require email, phone, password, social login, OTP verification, and additional identity checks.
We may restrict, suspend, or close accounts where there is fraud, misuse, safety risk, unpaid balances, false information, or breach of these terms.
Ride requests
A ride request requires a pickup, drop-off, ride type, payment method, and any schedule time shown in the app. A request is not confirmed until it is accepted by a driver or otherwise confirmed by MyLyft.
Fare estimates, route previews, travel times, driver availability, ride offers, and ETAs are estimates. The final fare can change because of route changes, waiting time, added stops, tolls, parking, cleaning charges, cancellation fees disclosed before confirmation, or other permitted adjustments.
Payments
Available payment methods are cash and Stripe. Stripe may present a new card, an explicitly saved card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay when supported and enabled.
Users authorise the clearly displayed ride fare. A fare increase caused by a route change requires a separate Stripe confirmation; MyLyft does not silently charge an additional amount.
A card is saved only after the user explicitly selects Save card with Stripe. Stripe stores the payment credential; MyLyft stores protected Stripe references and limited card display details. Saved cards can be removed from the account payment screen.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation and refund handling is described in the Cancellation & Refund Policy. If a rule conflicts with trip-specific information displayed before confirmation, the trip-specific information controls.
Driver requirements
Drivers must be approved by MyLyft before accepting trips. Drivers must maintain any required private-hire driver licence, vehicle licence, right-to-work documentation, insurance, MOT, roadworthiness, and local licensing compliance.
Drivers must keep their contact details, vehicle details, app status, location availability, and compliance documents accurate and up to date. MyLyft may request re-review at any time.
Drivers must not use another person's account, accept street hails through MyLyft, drive while impaired, discriminate, harass, carry illegal items, or complete trips in an unapproved vehicle.
Rider requirements
Riders must use the service lawfully, treat drivers respectfully, wear seatbelts where required, provide accurate pickup information, avoid damage or abusive behaviour, and supervise children or vulnerable passengers.
Riders must not request illegal journeys, carry prohibited items, harass drivers, evade payment, or misuse emergency/safety tools.
Safety and complaints
Safety rules are set out in the Safety Policy and Driver & Rider Rules. Complaints can be submitted through the Complaints Process.
For emergencies, users must contact emergency services first. MyLyft support is not a substitute for police, ambulance, fire, or other emergency services.
Liability
MyLyft provides the platform with reasonable skill and care. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyLyft is not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, service interruptions, inaccurate third-party mapping data, mobile network failure, or matters outside reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or statutory rights that apply to consumers.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page or notified through the website, app, email, or other service message.
